The Association

What does the association stand/fight for:

Preservation and valorisation of the natural heritage and forest

Preservation of the agricultural and natural landscape

Monitoring the housing growth

The fruition of the park linked to residential tourism

In 2002, during a very critical time for Portofino, the association ‘Per il Monte di Portofino’ was born. At the time the borders of the natural park had been reduced to a little over 1000 hectares and the risk of a new wave of urbanization transforming and destroying the agricultural and natural landscape was at the gates. With the aim of protecting the ‘Monte di Portofino’, the team sided with other important associations working together with the organisation responsible for the institutional protection of the natural park and the surrounding communities.

Thanks to the successful maintenance, restoration and upholding of the natural landscapes and historical artefacts (more information can be found on the website), the association has striven to impede/prohibit further destruction to the surrounding environment. At the same time the organization aims to improve and enhance existing housing especially agricultural buildings.

This non-profit organization, operate with both private and external funds collaborating with other organizations that share the same values and objectives.

The association has gained Onlus status.
